2 1 I will use the term 'living arrangement' or 'coresidential arrangements' interchangeably to refer to the household structure of the elderly. When living with at least one child (or other kin) I will use the term 'coresidence'. Unless otherwise noted, when elderly live with a spouse but no other kin or are unmarried and living with no other kin, I will use the term 'living alone'.
